Miller Family History

John Miller was born on March 7, 1884, in Pontotoc, Mississippi. On January 18, 1905, he married Adlena Bell in Pontotoc, MS, when he was 20 years old. They had their first child, Louise, on July 18, 1916, in Mississippi. Sometime between July 1916 and early 1917, John and Adlena moved to Arkansas and had their second child, Willie Mae, on April 26, 1917. At this time, John was 33 years old and Adlena was 37. When Willie Mae was two years old, her brother Charlie B was born on February 6, 1920. John and Adlena's youngest child, Sadie, was born on June 13, 1921, in St. Francis County, Arkansas. In 1930, the family lived in Jasper, Arkansas, and by 1935 they had moved to Crittenden County, Arkansas, where John worked as a sharecropper until his death in 1946.
